Pride London has always taken Disability access seriously and as such decided to have a specific Direct to oversee this area who reports in to the Chair of Communities.  The specific Director that was chosen has a history of both being disabled as well as working with disability issues within the TUC.  He has been very forthcoming with development ideas about inclusion and access issues and this will be taken up by Pride London in 2010 and right through to 2012.

The Convener for access is someone who has been with Pride for a number of years and understands the needs of the disabled community and as such has the full confidence of Pride London to continue to manage this area. Both the convener and the Director identified earlier have a long and tested track record with this area and we will be ensuring that the needs of disabled LGBT people are enshrined at the heart of the event.
