trans@pride.

The Transgender community is diverse and includes male to female transsexuals (MtF), female to male transsexuals (FtM), bigendered, gender queer, gender questioning and of course all of these can be Lesbian Gay or Bisexual...including Straight! Trans has always existed but the trans community has increased in its visibility over the years and is becoming more active.

In preparation for the Pride celebrations and with the aim of making Trans visible and part of the celebrations, several London Trans groups and representatives have met regularly to plan the festivities. We want to invite as many trans folk as possible. We will meet prior to the march, celebrate the march with all other groups and organisations and enjoy the rally with a hopefully a trans presence in the main stage and the women's stage and a Trans stall in Trafalgar Square!

This year we at Pride London are proud to announce that it is our intention to host our largest ever Trans Float and Event. We have secured the services of two of the music industries premier Trans DJ's who will be performing on our float for the duration of the Parade. We are in the process of planning a performance event worthy of any professional stage, to include all the aspects of our wonderfully diverse community. With spectacular costumes and dancers from across the whole spectrum of Trans. We intend to give the Trans community a show to be truly proud of and to show that we are the equal of all when it comes to being able to celebrate our diversity.

We are in the process of putting together the team that will be managing the event and are particularly interested in your views in what we may able to do on the Parade to make you feel part of the event. If you feel you have talents that we can use, whether as a dancer or in helping us making it all happen on the day, please get in touch at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. how can you take part with trans at pride?
We are particularly interested in members of our community who can bring that magical sparkle to our show. All applications will be reviewed by the managing team and we are keen that everyone is included.

Listed below are the Skillsets we are most interested in to make the show up logistically;

Dancers and Performers from the FTM and TQQI communities. This will require a commitment to attending some costume fittings and rehearsals in the 2 week period before the Parade.

SIA badged security operatives who are prepared to assist in escorting the float and ensuring that the float and performers can perform to their full potential. You will be working alongside a full complement of Pride London Volunteer Stewards.

Competent artists who can assist in designing and preparing the decor for the float both in the period preceding the Parade and on the day of the event itself.

If you feel that you have skills that we may be able to put to good use, please do not hesitate to get in touch, we welcome all help and assistance that you have to offer.
