Older LGBT Communities Celebrating with Pride

older lgbtIt's really great to be on a Pride Parade, celebrating with our wide and diverse LGBT communities, taking part in THE best Pride, in THE best City in the world. Parading in our costumes and groups, dancing on our floats, through the West End, along Oxford Street and Regent Street, celebrating how far we have come with rights for LGBT people, where even the LGBT police and armed services march with Pride, cheered on by the public.

It's certainly a long way from how things used to be, when the police where there for our protection, when we were fighting to be accepted and to have basic equal rights. From the days of the first Gay Pride Marches back in the early 70s, when maybe a few hundred people marched for equality. Those LGBT men and women who were the activists who fought to get us this far are now our older LGBT community, and have earned their rightful place at the front of the parade, a Pride Parade and celebration which attracts more than half a million each year.

So, respect and thanks to all of our older LGBT people, all of whom who have paved the way so we can not only be proud on this one day, but hold our heads with pride every day of our lives.

So, if you're older LGBT, or younger and just want to come celebrate with us, please fell free to join in and celebrate with the Older LGBT Communities Celebrating Pride.
